Seminar

All members of Bulldogs in Recovery participate in seminar once a week. Seminar is the heart and soul of what we do – it is where we check in with our peers, develop community, strengthen our skills and process our experiences as college students in recovery. Students who have less than 6 months of sustained recovery also attend an Introductory Seminar tailored to building a comprehensive groundwork for those new to recovery.

Recovery Night

Recovery Night is an all-recovery speaker meeting that meets monthly on campus and is open to all who are interested. Recovery Night provides Mississippi State University and the larger community an opportunity to hear stories of recovery from a wide array of perspectives. During the Fall and Spring semesters, Recovery Night meets every second and fourth Thursday at 7 p.m. in McCool Hall, Rm. 128/130. Join us for coffee, doughnuts, experience, strength and hope!

Community Lunches

During the fall and spring semesters, we have Community Lunch every Tuesday at noon. A grab and go as you please style homecooked lunch is just one of several benefits of dedicated Bulldogs in Recovery students.

Family Breakfast

Every Friday we get together at Starkville Café for a Family Breakfast. Fridays were made for wearing maroon and eating at Starkville Café.

Events

Back to School Social

At the beginning of each semester, students get together in order to get the semester kicked off in the right direction. This allows students who haven't seen each other over break to reconnect and allows new students to acclimate to the community in a laid-back setting.

Fall and Spring Retreats

Each fall and spring semester, Bulldogs in Recovery provides students with the opportunity to network with students from other collegiate recovery communities around the Southeast. The retreats consist of events and activities that promote team building and fellowship among MSU students and other universities. Students leave refreshed and recharged after a weekend filled with the forging of new friendships and the renewal of old ones.

Family Weekend

During the fall semester, Bulldogs in Recovery hosts a Family Weekend for the parents of our students to come down to Starkville and see what Bulldogs in Recovery is all about. The weekend is centered on what Bulldogs in Recovery provides to students, how parents can best support their students in recovery and academics, as well as a formal dinner showcasing our students' many successes.

Spring Speaking Event

During the spring semester, Bulldogs in Recovery hosts a larger-scale speaking event in order to raise awareness of recovery on a campus-wide scale and also provide Bulldogs in Recovery students the chance to connect with unique and engaging members of the recovery field.

Graduation Celebration

Graduating from an SEC school and being in recovery is a big deal. We like to celebrate our students' academic success. At the end of each semester, we get together in order to congratulate, socialize and reminisce with one another.
